What was Ian like?

Ian was quick witted and quite bright. Was an avid skier and passionate soccer player since 3. Mastered the art of debate in childhood. Filled our home with his friends. Had an independent spirit, an infectious smile. Very enterprising. High hopes.

Favorite memory of Ian

Every snowfall brings memories of Ian eagerly strapping on the ski rack anticipating the joy of tearing up the slopes. He had awesome skills at rationalization. He was handsome with beautiful red hair and bright green/blue eyes.

What will be missed most about Ian

His quick wit and humor. A formidable debater. His passionate discussions about politics and metaphysics. His late night stir fries. Shared moments watching Jon Stewart. Endless cable reruns of Forrest Gump and Shawshank Redemption. Our shared love of music and the artists he added to my playlists. His love of clothing styles. His particular shoe styles. His ability to flip a discussion to his advantage was an art form. He was a blessing and a challenge. I love being his mom.

How will Ian like to be remembered?

A quote he posted. “Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing it from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.”~ Baz Luhrmann Ian is a million memorable things that are cherished. Now a Cosmic Explorer keeping in touch on his journey. Godspeed my darling Beautiful Boy. Love is eternal. We will meet again.
