What was Delaney like?

Delaney was so beautiful, talented and really funny. She wasn’t the smartest kid in school, but if she found something she liked, she would excel at it. She learned to speak Spanish from her friends and loved animals most of all.

Favorite memory of Delaney

The day our horse gave birth in the middle of the night and we had no idea she was even pregnant. I think Delaney was about 11 at the time and I let her stay home from school to help take care of little Steven Tyler. The mother sadly passed within minutes of us finding her but we manged to keep the baby alive by bottle feeding him. We loved that horse; it was just a great experience with memories that will last a lifetime. .

What will be missed most about Delaney

I miss the person she was before drugs came into her life. I’ve been missing that person even before she died. Makes me sad how such a beautiful, funny person can get sucked up in such a horrible nightmare.

How will Delaney like to be remembered?

Delaney wrote a poem before she died that we included in her obituary, which went viral. Millions of people around the world have read it. Till this day people tell us how her poem has helped them with thier own struggles. She will be remembered for her strength and beauty.
